(Keystone-ATS) The Friborg International Film Festival (FIFF) is launching an annual short film directing competition. He invites the Friborg population to grab cameras or cell phones and participate.

The long-term objective of this competition, entitled “a history of Fribourg”, is to constitute a cantonal audiovisual heritage by exploring and telling the story of Friborg through the eyes of its population, the festival explained in a press release on Thursday evening.

The theme of this first year is “A history of Fribourg: Land of music”. Through a fiction or a documentary, in the form of a video clip, or even an animation, everyone will be able to offer their own vision of their neighborhood, their village, their city, their region, their canton through the prism musical, continues the press release.

The competition is aimed at both amateur and professional audiences. Prizes will be awarded and the best films will be screened during the next edition of the FIFF. Interested people, who must reside in the canton of Fribourg, are invited to register until April 30 and to consult the regulations on fiff.ch/fr/histoire-fribourg.
