Friborg wins, Zurich has fun in Hungary

The first day of the Champions League smiled on Fribourg. In their lair, the Dragons dominated Ilves Tampere 3-2 thanks in particular to a brace from Janne Kuokkanen.

In a fairly full rink for a match in this competition (5,014 spectators), the Dragons put on an interesting show. It must be said that the opposition offered by the Finns was of quality.

Christian Dubé certainly appreciated the performance of his new Finnish striker Janne Kuokkanen. The former New Jersey Devils stood out with a nice double. This allows the Freibourgese to put a little balm in the heart after the exit on injury of their Swedish sniper Marcus Sörensen, hit in one hand at the very beginning of the game.

The winning goal fell in the 51st minute on a clever deflection from Matthias Rossi. Good game also from Reto Berra despite some outings that were sometimes a bit daring.

In Group D, Fehervar was no trap for Zurich. The Lions went on to win 7-1 in Hungary.

The Zurichers downgraded the Hungarian team by opening the scoring by Weber after 39 seconds. Andrighetto doubled the lead in the 6th before a brace from Bodenmann. Then Hollenstein imitated his former teammate and Alexandre Texier also went there with his success.

Defeat on the other hand for the third Swiss club engaged for this recovery. Opposed to Munich, Rapperswil lost 4-1 at home.
