We’ve been doing it for thousands of years. The ancient Egyptians spent their free time playing board games around 3,500 years ago. More than that: “Senet” – as one of the oldest known board games is called – was considered a game of the gods and was even considered a spiritual ritual. It was played with checkers on a board with 30 squares and was probably a kind of forerunner of backgammon. Today the range of games available in stores is more varied than ever.
