Shadow of the Erdtree is long overdue… and it might still go on!
In his last financial report, From Software does not list the DLC ofElder Ring in its annual forecasts, which extend to mars 2024. It will therefore not be before this that we will be able to see what the Entre-Terre will have in store for us once more, to the great displeasure of the community; however, this fits with the forecasts of a trailer presented to Game Awards 2023a few months before a hypothetical release.
From Software has made a specialty of releasing its DLCs shortly following a trailer, so the window seems quite likely. If we add this to the fact that Shadow of the Erdtree is the additional content the most substantial produced by the Japanese studio, it seems normal that a certain amount of work is required. Hopefully the quality will live up to expectations!
Interestingly, the report speaks several times of ” franchise ” to describe Elder Ring and its DLC. This indicates that plans have already been made either for a suiteor perhaps derivative games ; mainly designed by George RR Martin, the dark and medieval universe ofElder Ring lends itself perfectly to becoming a successful licensewith the potential to unfold over several years.
Waiting for, Armored Core VI : Fires of Rubicon is still scheduled for next august 25while insistent rumors speak of a remaster of Bloodborne… and a possible PC version!
