from venice – The Resto del Carlino

A film that, through war, speaks of life, death and ideals to hold on to in order to remain human. Tomorrow, at 9:30 p.m., the Arena Puccini welcomes director Gianni Amelio and actor Alessandro Borghi for the preview of the film Campo di battaglia, currently in competition at the 81st Venice International Film Festival. Produced by Kavac Film, Ibc Movie, One Art with Rai Cinema, the film is set in Friuli-Venezia Giulia at the end of the First World War. Two medical officers work in the same military hospital where the most seriously wounded arrive from the front every day. Many of them, however, have inflicted their wounds on themselves, willing to do anything rather than fight.
