Analyzing the match on the antennae of Canal +, Thomas Tuchel evoked the shortcomings of his team. To follow the German technician, individually, his players were not at the level. In turn, the Blues fell short of Real Madrid.
“Individually, we were not at the right level. We missed everything. What is expected of us at this level of competition, we missed it. And behind, the gap with Real Madrid was too big today”he observes.
Thomas Tuchel also thinks that the third goal conceded by Edward Mendy damaged Chelsea’s chances. “We had the possibility of coming back to the score but not like that”, believes the Chelsea coach.
The latter does not think of the return match for the moment. “Can we turn the tide in the second leg? I do not know. We have an important game against Southampton,” he finished.
