FTC falsely accuses Microsoft of betting exclusivity on Bethesda games

The US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is carefully reviewing Microsoft’s deal with Activision Blizzard, as well as other activities of the company. In this regard, a commission spokesman recently said that Microsoft guaranteed the EU regulator that ZeniMax games would not become Xbox exclusives.

The EU oversight body sent a rebuttal to this – there was no such agreement and the commission fully approved the Microsoft / ZeniMax deal. According to Microsoft, the issue of exclusivity will be considered on a game-by-game basis.

Now Microsoft is in the process of acquiring Activision Blizzard, and this deal will definitely affect not only the console war, but the entire situation in the gaming market. Whether this will help establish another monopoly or whether the grass will just get a little greener is still an open question.
