Fuel price hikes kick in; Indians worried: Jaishankar – Jaishankar

New York – Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar said that Indians are worried regarding fuel prices. “Fuel price hike is tearing us apart. This is the biggest concern. Jaishankar also said that our per capita economy is only 2000 dollars. Jaishankar said this in a meeting with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken.

Jaishankar shared his concern at a time when the G7 countries are moving to set a price cap for Russian fuel. Blinken told a joint news conference that they are working with partners and that oil revenues should not fuel the war once morest Ukraine. Blinken also mentioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s discussion with Russian President Vladimir Putin that this is not the time for war.

The US and European countries are trying to impose a price cap. If the price cap comes into effect as part of the sanctions, the availability of Russian fuel in the global market will decrease. This is the move of the G7 countries to eliminate Russia’s income. Jaishankar also held talks with US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin at the Pentagon.
