Fuel prices: here’s why you shouldn’t fill up this weekend

From Thursday 1 September, the government fuel rebate will increase from 18 to 30 cents per litre. At the same time, the oil giant TotalEnergies will apply a discount of 20 centimes per litre, an offer that can be combined with the State discount.

Are you hitting the road this weekend and need to refuel? It is probably better that you drive a little on the reserve, at least until Monday, if you want to save money.

Boosts galore

From this Thursday, September 1, the rebate on the liter of fuel put in place by the government goes from 18 to 30 cents.

This new boost from the State will be accompanied by a gesture from the oil company TotalEnergies. Also from September 1, all stations in the Total network will offer a discount of 20 centimes per liter, combinable with the 30 centimes of the government. Thanks to these two discounts, the savings made will increase to €16 for a 50-litre fill-up (compared to a previous fill-up carried out at Total).

This Wednesday, August 24, oil prices closed higher, suggesting the highest level for a month.

From November 1, each of these discounts will increase to 10 centimes per litre, at least until the end of December.

As indicated L’automobile magazinenothing is set for 2023.
