A European arrest warrant was issued against him on December 29. Considered “quite dangerous”, according to a source close to the investigation, the prosecution had clarified at the time of his flight that he was not armed and had not benefited from any complicity.

On Wednesday, the Annecy prosecutor’s office indicated that the minor had been arrested in Switzerland in the canton of Friborg and imprisoned before backpedaling this Thursday: he was in fact never arrested. The prosecution evokes a misunderstanding between the Swiss and French police. There was “confusion over a report, written in English, between the two police forces” explained Line Bonnet-Mathis, the Annecy public prosecutor. The young man is therefore still actively sought by the police.
