Fuji Television Co., Ltd. announced on February 23 (Thursday) that all sessions of the 2023 season FIA-F1 World Championship will be “completely broadcast live” on CS broadcast Fuji Television NEXT Live Premium.
In addition, the official pre-season test held at the Bahrain International Circuit from February 23 (Thursday) to 25 (Saturday) will also be broadcast live.
Even after the beginning of the year, there was no announcement of a broadcasting contract, and some people were worried about its survival, but just before the start of the first official session of the season, the continuation of broadcasting was officially announced.
Fuji Television has broadcast all F1 races since 1987, when the first F1 Japan GP was held at Suzuka Circuit. This year marks the 37th year. 2023 will be the 26th year of the live broadcasting of all wars on the CS channel, which has continued since 1998.
The 2023 F1 season is scheduled to start with the opening Bahrain GP on March 5th and end with the final Abu Dhabi GP in November, with a total of 23 races, the most in history.
The Japanese Grand Prix, which was held for the first time in three years last year, will be held at Suzuka Circuit again this year. In 2023, the Las Vegas GP, a local Saturday night race, will make its first appearance on the calendar. Despite the large time difference in the Americas, Japan can enjoy live broadcasts on Sunday afternoons.
This year, which marks the second year of the introduction of the ground effect car, there are many highlights.
Will Max Verstappen win the driver’s title for the third time in a row, or will Red Bull overcome the penalty associated with violating the budget limit and achieve the double title for the second time in a row with the momentum of last year’s F1 power unit?
Expectations are high not only for the counterattack of Ferrari and Mercedes, but also for Japanese driver Hiroki Tsunoda (AlphaTauri), who is facing a critical moment in his third year in F1.
Pre-season test broadcast schedule
From February 23rd to 25th, the F1 pre-season test will be broadcast live on Fuji TV NEXT Live Premium and Fuji TV NEXTsmart under the title “Just before the opening of the 2023 season! Thorough analysis of the finish of each team!”
