Rabat – The funeral of the late Mohamed Moatassim, Advisor to HM the King, took place on Tuesday at the Chouhada cemetery in Rabat, in the presence of HRH Prince Moulay Rachid.
After the prayers of Addohr and the deceased at the Chouhada Mosque in Rabat, the remains of the deceased were buried in the Chouhada cemetery.
The funeral of the deceased took place in the presence of members of his family and relatives, advisers to HM the King, representatives of political parties and several other personalities.
His Majesty King Mohammed VI sent a message of condolences and compassion to the members of the family of the late Mohamed Moatassim.
In this message, HM the King affirms having learned with deep affliction and immense sadness the news of the death of the late Mohamed Moatassim, imploring the Almighty to accept him among the virtuous faithful and to welcome him in His vast paradise.
In this painful circumstance, the Sovereign expresses to the parents of the deceased, to his widow Mrs. Nabila, to his children Issam and Sara, to all the members of his family, as well as to the relatives, friends and admirers of the late Mohamed Moatassim, his deep condolences and his sincere feelings of compassion following this cruel loss, the divine will being unstoppable, praying the Most High to grant them patience and comfort.
The message emphasizes that the disappearance of the late Mohamed Moatassim is a great loss not only for his family, but also for his country which has lost in him a great and faithful clerk of the State, who has dedicated his life to the service of his country. , with dedication and self-negation, while showing an unwavering attachment to the Glorious Alaouite Throne, to the constants and the sacredness of the Nation.
HM the King said, on this occasion, that he remembered with great esteem and consideration the great human qualities and the recognized patriotism of the late, as well as his fine intellectual and academic capacities and the great insight in the fields of politics and constitutionalism which he has shown in the various high offices he has held with great competence, “faithful to our Throne and our Eternal Constants, both under the reign of our venerable father the late His Majesty King Hassan II, and God rest His soul in His holy mercy, only as a faithful Counselor of Our Majesty”.
The late Moatassim passed away on Monday in Rabat following an illness.
