When it comes to good looks in the memory industry, who do you think of? If you ask me, my first answer would definitely be all G.SKILL Trident Z series, including the Phantom Halberd, the Flame Halberd and the Royal Halberd; and during the D4 era, my first console choice What I bought was the Magic Light Halberd 8G*2 2666MHz dual-channel set. I chose it for no other reason than I simply liked its shiny RGB light strips XD. As the demand for use increased, I also bought a set later The Yanguangji 16G*2 3200MHz dual-channel kit can still be seen when unboxing the D4 motherboard a while ago; but when Intel launched the 12th generation CPU, it officially announced that the era of DDR5 is coming, and as a G.SKILL, a major memory manufacturer, has of course launched a new generation of Trident Z series DDR5, and what I want to unbox this time is the Trident Z5 RGB DDR5 16Gx2 6400MHz WHITE from G.SKILL, also known as the Phantom White Edition. . =====Unboxing====== G.SKILL Trident Z5 RGB DDR5 black and white packaging boxes have the same design, with a black and white image printed below, and the model labels of Intel XMP Ready and Trident Z5 RGB in the lower left corner. To identify which color the memory is, you can identify it from the transparent area above. In addition, the Fantasy Halberd has also won product awards such as the Red Dot Product Design Award, Best Choice Award, and the 2022 European Hardware Award. Zhiqi also printed its awards on the front of the product packaging box. There is a sticker with the serial number and specifications of the memory on the back, and a label that supports ASUS, Gigabyte, MSI, and ASRock lighting control software is also placed below. The contents inside include the unboxed Trident Z5 RGB DDR5 16Gx2 6400MHz WHITE set as well as product photo cards and faith stickers. =====G.SKILL Trident Z5 RGB DDR5 16Gx2 6400MHz WHITE====== Let’s start with the comparison chart between Magic Blade and Flame Halberd. The design language of Magic Blade is similar to that of DDR4. Both adopt the right-high-left approach. The two lower heat sinks just make the overall appearance more streamlined. I personally prefer the design of the Magic Blade, which is less masculine. Ha~ The white board that I unboxed this time mainly has two heat sinks on the upper and lower sides. It uses white sandblasting treatment, with a hairline design in the middle, and also has the Trident Z5 RGB model name. There is an additional memory specification sticker on the back, including capacity, frequency and warranty serial number. (If you tear it off by yourself, you will be void of warranty) There is an RGB light strip above the memory, with the G.SKILL brand printed in the middle. Here is also attached a display of the lighting effects after the camera is turned on, and below there is an additional video showing her RGB display. =====Performance Test====== Next, we will start this memory reading performance test. Attached is the component list for this test: CPU: Intel Core i7-12700K Motherboard: ROG STRIX Z790-E GAMING WIFI Memory: G.SKILL Trident Z5 RGB DDR5 16Gx2 6400MHz WHITE Radiator: DEEPCOOL LT720 WHITE Hard drive: SEAGATE FIRECUDA 540 PCIE Gen5 SSD 2TB Power supply: FSP Hydro PTM X PRO 1200W WHITE Chassis: Thermaltake Yao Core P3 TG Pro WHITE operating system: Windows 11 22H2 ※The environment temperature for this test was 28 degrees normal temperature and cloudy. In addition, the BIOS also turned on ASUS’s own CPU AI overclocking, and everything else was default. Before starting the test, you can also enable XMP from the BIOS. In EZ Mode, the ASUS motherboard has the switch in the middle left corner of the page. As long as you change the XMP setting to Enable or turn it on, you can overclock smoothly. You can also set XMP in Ai Tweaker in advanced mode, and there are more parameters that can be adjusted. I am not very familiar with it myself, so I used the default XMP for testing this time. In the ASUS SPD information in the tool area, you can view memory-related information, including particle manufacturer, capacity, frequency, material number, etc. Next, the test started. Before the test, I put the CPU-Z related information to verify the identity. The memory was successfully overclocked to 6400MHz, and the latency was CL32-39-39-102. This test was performed on the original Reading and related theoretical running test at 4800MHz and 6400MHz after XNP. Since we are testing theoretical running scores at two different frequencies this time, in addition to attaching the test screenshots, we will also compile a curve chart so that everyone can better observe the difference between the two; The first is the Cache & Memory Benchmark test of AIDA64 , at 6400MHz, G.SKILL Trident Z5 RGB reads 96332 MB/s, writes 85917 MB/s, and has a latency of 69.7 ns; at 4800MHz, it reads 71392 MB/s, writes 67113 MB/s, and has a latency of 69.7 ns. 91 ns, you can see that reading, writing, and latency have been greatly improved after turning on XMP. Next is the CrossMark test. 6400MHz has a gap of 3~10% in various scores. The last test is PCMark 10. There is not much difference between the two frequencies. All the values are similar, and there are winners and losers. =====Summary====== The above is the unboxing and testing of G.SKILL Trident Z5 RGB DDR5 16Gx2 6400MHz WHITE~~ As more and more platforms support DDR5 memory and the technology matures, the current D5 The performance and price are no longer so difficult to buy. Personally, I think the prices of 6000MHz and 6400MHz are actually within the acceptable range. If you have high reading and writing needs in related professional fields, then D5 is already a suitable time to buy. ; The G.SKILL Trident Z5 RGB DDR5 tested this time also inherits the design language of D4 in appearance, and also launches a white version out of the box, paired with their already beautiful RGB lighting effects. If it is a white control Players, I believe that the appearance of this group will definitely not disappoint~~ Finally, I also put an RGB video of the Phantom Halberd after it is turned on for everyone to watch.
