Gabion wall being built in Cumanacoa! This Tuesday, July 16, the construction of a gabion wall began in the Barrio Blanco sector in Cumanacoa. This wall will be important to prevent future overflows, following the floods caused by the overflow of the Manzanares River.

Nayade Lockiby, the mayor of the Montes municipality, announced that the works will be carried out over a period of 60 days.

“We started with this, first the construction of the natural wall and the collection and classification of the material, rocks and debris that are found here,” he said.

He indicated that heavy machinery is carrying out the excavation process following the tragedy that flooded the capital of the Montes municipality several days ago.

Employees of the Ministry of Public Works, members of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) and residents of Cumanacoa are collaborating in the construction of the wall.
