The president of the transition split the pear in two. Brice Oligui Nguema appointed Jean-François Ndongou, a leader of the deposed party, to the presidency of the National Assembly. As president of the Senate, he called on Paulette Missambo, one of the main opposition figures.

The bureau of each of the two chambers of Parliament will have four vice-presidents. Former executives of the Ali Bongo regime, opponents, members of civil society and soldiers will occupy these positions.
