The Premiers de Cordée association offers free, all year round, sports initiations for sick and disabled children. In 2023, she launched the “Rugby Tour at the Hospital”. The objective, in this year of the World Cup in France: that as many children as possible present in healthcare establishments, throughout the country, can discover the practice of rugby.

After a launch on February 15 in Paris, return to the capital for the 20th and final stage, this Thursday, December 14 at the Robert-Debré AP-HP Hospital: Gaël Fickou, center of the XV of France and Racing 92, came meeting children to play with them, teach them the basics of rugby and share their experience.

From Clermont to La Rochelle, via Bayonne, Limoges, Pau, Toulouse, Montpellier or even Lyon, Dijon and Aix-en-Provence… A total of 20 dates will therefore have been offered during the year across the entire territory with the presence, each time, of big names in rugby and active players.

The initiations, which were held in the afternoon or evening, depending on the care programs and the children’s visiting rights, lasted between 1.5 and 2 hours maximum. An adapted physical activity (APA) teacher from the association supervised the session. The medical staff guided the teams according to the children’s pathologies, in strict compliance with medical confidentiality.
