GAK wins against Lafnitz – Vienna only draw

The Vienna has failed to reduce the gap to the top of the table in the 2nd soccer league.

The Viennese had to settle for a 0-0 draw at the still winless latecomers Dornbirn in the 6th round on Saturday and are four points behind first place, which Amstetten had grabbed on Friday with a 3-2 win at FAC. Vienna was lucky, Dornbirn’s Lars Nussbaumer failed in the 85th minute in the penalty at Vienna goalie Andreas Lukse.

One point behind fifth-placed Vienna is GAK in sixth place, the “Rotjacken” celebrated their second win of the season with a 2-1 (2-0) win over Lafnitz. Daniel Kalajdzic (13th), Markus Rusek (20th) and Michael Liendl (92nd) scored the home side’s goals, who already met their Styrian opponents again on Tuesday in the second round of the cup – this time away from home.

The round ends on Sunday (10.30 a.m.) with the duel between Blau Weiß Linz and Rapids amateurs. The Upper Austrians could close the gap on points with Vienna and St. Pölten (4th) with a win.
