Galatasaray overthrow Besiktas and win derby

The 28th day of the Süper Lig, the Turkish championship, was marked by a long-awaited golden poster. The Besiktas club opened the doors of its Tüpraş Stadyumu to its Istanbul sworn enemy Galatasaray. Mauro Icardi’s troops were at the top of the standings before kick-off, while the Aigles Noirs were just off the podium with a 4th place. This duel smelled like gunpowder between two giants of Turkish football.

During a relatively balanced game, where the two teams attempted more than ten shots, it was the Galatasaray players who came to win by the smallest of margins (0-1) with the opening the score quickly with a CSC goal from midfielder Al-Musrati. Next weekend, Galatasaray players will face Rizespor, while Besiktas will play Gaziantep.
