Samsung Electronics is drawing extraordinary attention by applying for a new camera module trademark.

Samsung Electronics is using its own camera module ISOCELL. ISOCELL debuted with the Galaxy S5, and has since evolved into the ISOCELL Plus and ISOCELL 2.0 brands.

According to the Dutch media Galaxy Club, it has been confirmed that Samsung recently applied for a new trademark called “XISO-CELL” on KIPRIS, a patent information net.

The new trademark adds a new “X” in front of the ‘ISOCEL’ brand. It is not yet known how the newly added “X” relates to camera performance and quality.

Again, Samsung Electronics mounts the first 2 billion pixel camera in galaxy s23 ultra model. It is unknown whether the new trademark will be used for the 200-megapixel main camera mounted on the Ultra.

Typically, Samsung Electronics registers a trademark for a new feature several months before a new smartphone is released. The new trademark is used as a selling point along with the launch of new smartphones.
