Expandable Galaxy Tab: Samsung files patent for tablet with screen that adapts

Samsung has already filed several patents for phones with expandable screens, but a new document shows that it is also expected to bring this technology to its tablets. According to the Techspota patent recently published by the US Patent and Trademark Office shows a Galaxy Tab with a screen that adapts to the format of the content.

The patent was submitted to the agency by Samsung in 2023. The document’s description and illustrations show a thin tablet with two scrolling mechanisms for the screen, which would expand according to the applications shown on the screen, such as movies, drawing applications and more.

To do this, the tablet would use a system of 8 gears that would move using internal motors and would be managed by a processor dedicated to them to enlarge and reduce the size of the screen.
