Galaxy Watch 6: Samsung prepares new more powerful processor for watches

According to new information revealed this Friday, the Galaxy Watch 6 should be announced with a new Exynos processor even more efficient than the one found in the Watch 5 line.

Sources working in Samsung’s supply chain report that the Exynos W980 will actually be built within the 5nm process of the company.

This should result in lower power consumption and up to 10% better performance than the Exynos W920. For this, Samsung must make small adjustments to the main core of the CPU.

Other expected improvements in this year’s watch still include a higher resolution display, while there are those who bet on the return of the Classic model with its traditional rotating crown.

Samsung understood that there is a portion of the public that likes the iconic crown and this should make the company return to betting on the Classic model.

The Korean manufacturer must also further reduce the display bezels and expand the battery capacity to deliver better autonomy, that is, an attempt to solve one of the watch’s chronic problems.

Finally, it must be remembered that the Galaxy Watch 6 line should retain all the features present in the current Galaxy Watch 5 family, including an OLED touchscreen, ECG, GPS, heart rate sensor, sleep monitoring, NFC, Wi-Fi and body composition analysis.
