gameplay trailer for cyberpunk action in the open world Vigilancer 2099

Developers from the independent British studio Envoidant presented new gameplay trailer for Vigilancer 2099 (ex Vigilance 2099) — inspired by the canceled Prey 2 and Blade Runner, an open-world cyberpunk action game.

The events of Vigilancer 2099 unfold in an isolated megatower, where the main character is locked up – a bounty hunter, for whom a large reward was assigned following completing an important order.

The only way out of this situation is to buy back your life by completing orders and earning loans. They can be spent on paying off a huge debt or pumping a character.

Players will be able to customize the appearance of the mercenary and cybernetic elements (affects the reaction of NPCs), travel through a densely populated megatower and complete orders created using automatic generation (failing to do so will not end the game).

Apparently, elements of past iterations of Vigilancer 2099 were abandoned: transport (air and ground), a futuristic metropolis and switching between first and third person views are not mentioned in the new rhetoric of the developers.

The gameplay trailer for Vigilancer 2099 shows a prototype of the game on Unreal Engine 5 with the protagonist chasing his goal. Gamers have met the video positively and already compare project with its source of inspiration: “This is the Prey 2 we lost”.

Vigilancer 2099 has no release date, but it does new page in the Steam service (old abandoned). The game is already in production over five years. AT last October the developers planned to go to Kickstarter, but Something went wrong.
