Gamescom 2024 will take place in August and ticket sales are in full swing. So far there is little information available about which game manufacturers will be on site. But one fact is already clear.

A spokeswoman for Nintendo of Europe said: “Gamescom is a central event in Nintendo’s calendar. This year, however, after careful consideration, we decided against taking part in Cologne.
This is likely to be a bitter setback for Gamescom. In 2023, Nintendo was represented in Hall 9 with numerous gaming stations, a selfie spot and a stage. The visitors were thrilled and the Japanese company won five Gamescom Awards.
Last year, Gamescom was able to match the number of visitors before the corona pandemic with an official 320,000 visitors. It remains to be seen whether the loss of Nintendo will result in a slump.
