Around 11 pm on Friday the phone rang at the Los Bucares police station of the Carabobo Police. A neighbor reported on some individuals with long weapons who were getting into houses at the Las Palmitas sawmill, in Valencia. When the commission went to verify, a confrontation began, which lasted for more than an hour.

Several commissions arrived at Las Palmitas. While they were touring the Petare sector, more than 15 subjects attacked the patrols and the officials repelled the action. Within minutes, the criminals fled to different sectors. However, the police were still deployed in the area and when they passed through sector 17, again, an exchange of fire was generated.

During that second confrontation, between members of the gang from the area led by “Luis El Feo” and others from “Los Guaricheros” from Mariara, whose members came to the area to ally themselves with those from Las Palmitas, a police officer de Carabobo was shot in the arm and a chief supervisor suffered fractures in both wrists.

The policemen were cornered and could not take their colleagues to a health center, so they had to wait for the antisocials, who were shooting with high-caliber weapons, to call a ceasefire so they could transfer the wounded.

In sector 8 there were other officials conducting tours on foot when they observed that a car was approaching. He stopped and several armed men got out. Once again there was a confrontation. The criminals abandoned the vehicle where they arrived and fled. Then, the uniformed men began to ask for more support and when more commissions arrived, which entered through the power plant in the area, they were also received with bullets and history repeated itself.

While the policemen recovered the DFN car, model S30, gray, used by the antisocials, a shootout broke out again, which kept the residents of all Las Palmitas in suspense. A patrol ended up with several bullet wounds.

Commissions from the Directorate of Against Organized Crime and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DIP) of the Bolivarian National Police arrived at the scene and finally ended the shooting that, apparently, the criminals would have won because they had more weapons and ammunition. to the security forces.
