The incident occurred during gameplay of No Man’s Sky, a space exploration and survival game developed by Hello Games. Gas giants within the game are known to feature extreme weather phenomena, including tornadoes. The game’s Titan expedition, released in February 2025, specifically tasks players with finding a tornado as part of the “Winds of Change” milestone.
