Gas has stopped flowing through Nord Stream 1

Today, Monday, Russia will start the long-awaited maintenance of the Nord Stream 1 gas pipeline. This lasts until July 21st.

The flow through Nord Stream 1 fell to zero on Monday morning. This emerged from the operator’s website https://www.nord-stream.info. According to this, no more gas flowed from 06.00 a.m. The pipe running through the Baltic Sea is to be serviced annually over the next ten days and can therefore not be used for gas transport.

Western Europe is concerned regarding whether the Russian energy company Gazprom will pump gas to the west once more in full following the end of maintenance. For several weeks, Gazprom has been supplying only part of the gas volume and has put forward technical reasons for this.
