Gas Leak in Brussels Forest: Avenue Van Volxem Incident Resolved

Brussels firefighters intervened late Tuesday followingnoon for a gas leak on Avenue Van Volxem in Forest. Tram traffic on the avenue was stopped as a precaution, but the leak is currently identified and has been contained. Traffic was able to resume, said Brussels firefighters spokesperson Walter Derieuw.

It was a gas leak from a low pressure pipe which was observed on the public highway, according to the Brussels firefighters. Sibelga, the distribution network manager for gas and electricity in the Brussels region, visited the site.
