Gatineau: a man arrested for shooting teenagers

The Gatineau Police Department arrested an individual who fired an air gun at children on Friday.

The event occurred near 1205, rue Notre-Dame in Gatineau, and caused a major police deployment, announced the Service de police de la Ville de Gatineau (SPVG) in a press release on Friday.

Five teenagers between the ages of 11 and 17 were hit by lead projectiles, but were not injured.

The suspect, a 22-year-old man, allegedly had a verbal altercation with the teenagers, before fetching his air gun from a dwelling and shooting from the balcony.

The youths fled, and the suspect may have tried to pursue them.

The man was eventually taken to headquarters where he will be met by investigators.

Two scenes are still protected and the investigation is ongoing.
