Doha: The 44th Gulf Cooperation Council Summit has welcomed the unified tourist visa decision that will ease entry into all six Gulf countries. In the first week of November, the Supreme Council meeting held in Doha decided to assign the Ministers of the Interior to take further action on the unified tourist visa approved by the GCC Interior Ministerial Committee in Oman.

After years of discussions and planning, a unified visa was approved for visits to GCC countries on the Schengen model. Citizens, residents and foreigners alike are eagerly waiting for a unified visa scheme that will allow visitors to visit all GCC countries without the need for other entry permits.

It is expected that the unified visa will come into force by the middle of 2024 with the completion of the procedures of the Committee of Interior Ministers of various Gulf countries.
