The six-nation Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) maintains a unified visa system that allows residents of member states to travel freely without national borders.

The UAE Minister of Economy, Abdullah bin Tuq Al Marri, announced the very important visa procedure. The announcement was made at the Future Hospitality Summit in Abu Dhabi.

Currently, only citizens of GCC countries can travel to these six countries without a visa. Meanwhile, expatriates have to apply for visas to various member states.

A new unified visa system is expected to be implemented soon, which will allow tourists to travel to multiple GCC countries without restrictions, he said.
