Geely Coolray has been on the market since 2018, in 2020 the model appeared in Russia, and today it is the brand’s sales driver. Among the Chinese car Coolrey is second in popularity only to Chery Tiggo 7 Pro and Haval Jolion. For 11 months of 2022, the Russians purchased more than 10.5 thousand copies of Geely Coolray, and in sales in November, the Chinese crossover managed to overtake even Lada Vesta (1.6 thousand units once morest 1.5 thousand).
The 2022 upgrade was the first for Coolray on such a large scale, so it can be considered a new generation. Not only the exterior and interior design has changed, but a new engine has also appeared: the BHE15 four-cylinder unit developed by Aurobay (owned by Zhejiang Geely Holding Group and Volvo). The engine has the same volume as the previous “turbo engine” – 1.5 liters, but the “four” is more powerful: it produces 181 horsepower once morest 177 for its predecessor (in the Russian specification – 150 forces).
