General Motors hints at plans to replace car manuals with ChatGPT

Seeking to bring more innovation to its cars, General Motors (GM) has indicated its intention to replace its car manuals with ChatGPT – an artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot specialized in dialogue.

According to information collected by the international website Archyde.com, the version of artificial intelligence embedded in vehicles would do all voice interaction; different from the keyboard way we know today.

In addition to providing information that could be consulted in the vehicle manual, the AI will be able to offer help for other problems more directly, giving instructions for changing a tire or issuing alerts if it is necessary to interrupt the journey, for example, in addition to to schedule appointments for repairs in workshops.

“This change is not just about one thing like the evolution of voice commands, but it means that customers can expect their future vehicles to be much more capable and current generally speaking when it comes to emerging technologies,” he said. a spokesperson for the automaker when discussing the matter.

Developed in partnership with Microsoft, using Azure – the company’s cloud service, GM has not yet confirmed the name of the artificial intelligence system embedded in vehicles. However, this should be something we will probably find out soon.

General Motors is responsible for Chevrolet, Cadillac, Buick and GMC. There is still no forecast for the launch of AI for the automaker’s cars and, consequently, for the arrival of vehicles with the resource on board here in Brazil.
