Everyone seems to have agreed. After a blockage last September, a compromise was found to promulgate the Geneva energy law. This proposes a vast energy renovation plan for buildings. According to RTS, the Council of State should present a new legislative project next week, resulting from several months of negotiations with real estate circles, environmental associations and even unions.

The subsidy envelope was increased from 200 to 500 million francs, reports public radio and television. More than half would be allocated to private owners. Last September, the government and the Grand Council fought over the issue. Parliament voted in favor of a less restrictive version of the text proposed by the Executive. The latter ended up refusing to publish the law as it stood. A very rare decision. The new text will be submitted to the Grand Council.
