Owner of a management sentenced for inflated rents
The director of a board was found guilty of forgery in the titles. He signed leases that he knew showed artificially inflated rents.

It is a priori a first at the end of the lake: the director of a management was condemned by penal order, at the end of May, in a case of fictitious leases. The man was found guilty of forgery in titles, for artificially inflated rents. Between 2009 and 2018, he signed twelve lease contracts “although he knew that these documents contained false information”, noted the justice, quoted by the “Geneva Grandstand».
The technique used – calledfictitious leases– consists of hiding dizzying rent increases by producing documents that do not indicate the actual amount of the previous rent, to avoid any dispute from the future tenant. In the case of the manager, at least one rent was thus inflated by 190%. The director did not challenge his conviction. He was sentenced to 180 suspended day-fines, and an immediate fine of 10,000 francs.
