The Greens launch 73 candidates for the Grand Council
Gathered in Carouge, the party presents a joint list, half male, half female.
Ah, the constitution of the lists of candidates for the Grand Council! After the PS, the 160 Greens gathered on Saturday engaged in this delicate exercise in Carouge. This obligatory passage forced to unearth the best elements to offer them to the people. For some time now, the parties have made it easier for themselves to do this. Whereas previously the parties forced themselves to make heartbreaking internal choices, the fashion is now for lists provided. In May, the PS presented 66 candidates, the Greens dub 73, 36 women and 37 men. “We are delighted with the quality and diversity of our list, underlines Delphine Klopfenstein Broggini, president of the party. In a very natural way, it is equal, as required by our statutes”. 73 candidates, isn’t that a bit much? “Not at all, a long list can motivate more people by mobilizing everyone’s networks.”
