Genève-Servette wins the match at the top

Genève-Servette is still the leader of the National League. The Genevans won 3-2 ap on the ice of Biel. Lausanne beat the Langnau Tigers 5-0 in a last chance game.

The shock at the top between the Seelanders and the Genevans was very intense. Coach Jan Cadieux’s players completely missed their start. After 71” of play, Gaëtan Haas was able to serve Fabian Hofer laterally, completely abandoned by the second garnet defender for the opener. Two minutes later, defender Yanick Stampfli scored his first goal of the season with a shot that easily abused Robert Mayer, who was much better afterwards.

The Genevans managed to get back in the game from the second period. Unfortunately for them, the Harri Säteri in the Biel cage had nothing to do with the failing doorman seen in Friborg on Tuesday. The Finn had regained his luster and for a long time thwarted the return of the Genevans. Finally, the young defender Giancarlo Chanton also opened his goal counter with a wrist shot (28th). Then Noah Rod won the equalizer on a service from Vincent Praplan after a long period of Geneva domination (56th). Linus Omark crucified the Biennois in extra time on a superb opening from Praplan. The Seelanders will be able to take their revenge and possibly lead the rankings this Saturday at Les Vernets.

Lausanne did not miss its chance against Langnau in a one-sided game. Still had to beat goalkeeper Luca Boltshauser. Guillaume Maillard did it from the 10th minute, followed shortly after by Marco Pedretti, author of a good deflection on a shot from Joel Genazzi. Ken Jäger made it 3-0 from safety in the 48th. The Vaudois thus remain in the race for 10th place.

A double from Sprunger

Fribourg-Gottéron lost 5-3 in Zug. Christian Dubé’s players were 2-0 down before reacting and getting the equalizer on a double from Julien Sprunger (44th and 48th). But the end of the match was favorable to the Zugois, author of a good performance after their elimination on Tuesday in the semi-finals of the Champions League. Fabrice Herzog at 5 against 4 and Lino Martschini gave a decisive advantage to the defending champions, who remain in the race for the play-offs.

The Rapperswil-Jona Lakers won 4-1 on the Ajoie ice. The Jurassians held the draw after a goal from Frédéric Gauthier until the 50th minute. The time that Maxim Noreau scores. Then Rowe and Albrecht added salt. Note the 3 points of Roman Cervenka.

Kloten won 3-2 at the Gottardo against Ambri-Piotta with a brace from Arttu Ruotsalainen. Led 2-0 by Bern, Davos finally won 4-2 in the capital.

The Zurich Lions, one of the main favorites for the title, lost 2-1 in Lugano. This is the fifth defeat. A negative streak that hadn’t happened to them since the 2005-2006 season when they played in the play-outs…
