George Santos: The Rosa Parks Comparison and the Battle for Equality

2023-07-10 21:42:55

Elected last November following lying regarding almost every aspect of his life and indicted last May for fraud, George Santos added to his legend by comparing himself to Rosa Parks, a pioneer of the civil rights movement in the United States. During a podcast hosted by a far-right personality, the New York representative slammed the Republicans who attacked him, and especially Mitt Romney.

Santos recalled his altercation with the Utah senator before Joe Biden’s most recent State of the Union address. Romney had notably criticized him for not having sat in the last row, given the fact that he did not even deserve to be in the hemicycle of the House of Representatives.

“Frankly, Mitt Romney, the man who walks to the State of the Union address wearing a Ukraine badge, tells me, a gay Latino, that I shouldn’t sit in the front and I should be in the back,” George Santos lamented to host Mike Crispi. “Well, guess what? Rosa Parks didn’t sit in the back and I’m not going to sit in the back either. This is the reality of things. »

Of course. Rosa Parks and George Santos, same fight.
