Georges Laoun Opticien: Turning Vandalism into Humor in Montreal

2024-04-16 13:32:32

Vandalized by graffiti complaining regarding the cost of their frames, a Montreal optometry clinic preferred to use humor to respond to its “mystery artist”.

“Your Caliss glasses are very expensive,” it is possible to read on the windows of Georges Laoun Opticien located at the corner of Saint-Denis and Duluth streets, according to a photo shared by the clinic on Facebook.

Rather than complain regarding the act of vandalism, the optometrist preferred to make a joke of it and even wanted to turn the graffiti into an advertising message.

“We don’t go unnoticed. Frames worthy of their cost since 1983,” replied the brand, still in the same publication.

The clinic even indicated that it would be ready to do a collaboration with its “mystery artist”, “if he wants to exhibit his works in a less colorful way”.

It seems she didn’t even wait to do it since a t-shirt and a bag with the inscription were offered for sale on the optometrist’s website.
