Georgia Lady Bulldogs Suffer Tough Loss to Ball State at Sun Coast Challenge: Game Recap and Analysis

NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. —  Leading for over 29 minutes, the Georgia Lady Bulldog basketball team could not overcome a 44 percent clip (7-of-16) from the free-throw line in a 52-51 loss Thursday to Ball State at the Sun Coast Challenge.

With Georgia up 51-50, Ball State’s Ally Becki scored the game-winning basket with two seconds remaining to lift the Cardinals to the win. Georgia falls to 8-4, while Ball State improves to 9-2 on the year.

Fifth-year senior Javyn Nicholson led Georgia once again with a double-double of 24 points and 11 rebounds, knocking in 10-of-17 from the field. Jordan Cole added seven points and seven boards for the Lady Bulldogs.

As a team, Georgia shot 43 percent from the floor, while Ball State hit just 35 percent. The Lady Bulldogs also outrebounded the Cardinals, 38-32.

Georgia led by as many as 12 points and held the advantage for over 29 minutes.

Next up, Georgia will host Wofford on Dec. 30 at noon ET inside Stegeman Coliseum.
