The Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin, announced Wednesday January 12 on CNews to have ” firm “ a mosque in Cannes (Alpes-Maritimes) due, in particular, to “Anti-Semitic words”.
“We are closing one of the mosques in Cannes, because we blame it for anti-Semitic remarks, for supporting the CCIF [Collectif contre l’islamophobie en France] et BarakaCity », dissolved at the end of 2020, explained the Minister of the Interior after “To have spoken” with the LR mayor of Cannes, David Lisnard.
Associations “Islamists”, according to the minister, CCIF and BarakyCity were dissolved in the wake of the assassination of Samuel Paty in October 2020.
In addition, the Minister declared that on “More than 2,500 Muslim places of worship”, we were counting “70 radicalized places of worship”.
According to the Interior Ministry, France has 2,623 mosques and Muslim prayer rooms.
Jihad apology

At the end of October, it was the Allonnes mosque, near Le Mans, welcoming around 300 worshipers, which was closed for six months by prefectural decision because it was suspected of legitimizing armed jihad or terrorism during its sermons.
