German Dominik Eberle signs with the Detroit Lions

Dominik Eberle has apparently signed a contract with the Detroit Lions in the NFL. He could already make his debut next weekend.

The German Dominik Eberle is now kicking for the Detroit Lions in the American football league NFL. This is reported by the sports site “ran”. Accordingly, the 26-year-old will be included in the so-called practice squad, i.e. in the training squad.

The Lions flew in Eberle for a trial session after regular kicker Austin Seibert and his backup were injured. That’s why he could play against the Philadelphia Eagles next Sunday, even though he’s only in the training squad so far.

Six stations, one game

According to the report, the native of Nuremberg was able to fully convince during his trial training. He sank seven of seven kicks and secured his place with the Lions.

Detroit is Eberle’s sixth NFL stop. Previously, he was active for the Las Vegas Raiders, Carolina Panthers, Houston Texans, again for the Carolina Panthers and most recently for the Green Bay Packers. He was only used once in a game. For the Houston Texans, he converted all five extra points and two of three field goals.
