Wellinger won to the delight of the German public who came en masse around the springboard. He made two jumps at 139.5 m and 128 m. The German won ahead of the Japanese Ryoyu Kobayashi (134.5/129 m) and the Austrian Stefan Kraft (132.5/125 m) at the end of a competition which was disrupted by changing winds which forced the organizers to change the position of the swing platform several times.
Two Swiss men managed to reach the final of the top 30. Gregor Deschwanden was the best among them, with jumps of 124 and 122 m. Veteran Simon Ammann (42), who is playing his 25th Austro-German tour, finished 21st after landing at 119 and 134 m. Both Remo Imhof (32nd/116 m) and Vaudois Killian Peier (39th/111 m) were eliminated at the end of the initial round.
