Germany entered into the semi finals of hockey world cup 2023 after beating England in the penalty shootout.

Bhubaneswar: Germany entered the semi-finals of the Hockey World Cup hosted by India. Germany reached the last four following defeating England in a tight quarter-final.

Germany won through penalty shootout. After trailing by two goals, Germany fought back with two goals in the last minute to equalize and extend the match to the penalty shootout. Wallace Zachary and Ansel Liam netted for England in stoppage time, while Grambusch Mats and Tom Grambusch were on target for Germany.

Germany won the penalty shootout with a score of 4-2. England’s Ansel Liam and Goodfield David failed to find the target. But Germany secured the semi-finals by scoring the first four attempts.

Germany’s opponent in the semi-finals is strong Australia. Belgium will face the Netherlands in the other semi-final.
