Berlin – Germany will continue controls at several national borders, including that with Austria. The borders with Switzerland, the Czech Republic and Poland are also controlled. “These internal border controls will be maintained,” says the decision paper published by the Prime Minister’s Conference on Tuesday. “The affected German states and the federal police are working closely together to combat smuggling and irregular immigration.”
