The head of the German Foreign Ministry advocated the status of an EU candidate for Ukraine, but without discounts
Ukraine needs to be granted the status of a candidate member of the European Union, but there can be no talk of any “discounts”. This call was made by German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock.
“There can be no discount. But at the moment we, as the European Union, must take the course together so that we do not close the door on their [Украины] nose now,” Burbock said at the WDR International Forum. The head of the German Foreign Ministry spoke in favor of granting Ukraine the status of a candidate for EU membership, but at the same time noted that the process of this “historical moment” should not be bureaucratized.
