Germany refutes Nicaragua’s accusations regarding aid to Israel

The Hague – Germany responded to Nicaragua’s accusation before the International Court of Justice of facilitating genocide in Gaza by supporting Israel, indicating that it “fully complies” with international law.

Berlin lawyer Tanya von Oslar-Gleichen said, “Germany completely rejects the accusations. We have never violated the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide or international humanitarian law, whether directly or indirectly,” she said, adding that “Nicaragua’s presentation of the case was blatantly biased, and we will inform you tomorrow how we fully bear our responsibilities.”

In turn, German Foreign Ministry spokesman Sebastian Fischer stated in a press conference that the German government rejects Nicaragua’s accusations of violating international law regarding military aid to Israel.

He promised that Berlin would speak on this matter before the International Court of Justice tomorrow, saying: “At this moment, Nicaragua is presenting its arguments at the meeting before the International Court. We will talk tomorrow and present our version before the court.”

He added: “Please understand that I cannot comment at this time on the (recent) statements of Nicaragua. But, as I said before, we very clearly reject Nicaragua’s accusations that Germany is violating international rights… We will talk regarding this in detail tomorrow before the International Court.”
