Rome/Berlin – Germany has suspended voluntary acceptance of migrants from Italy. As “Die Welt” learned from circles within the German interior authorities, the selection processes for asylum seekers arriving in Italy as part of the “voluntary solidarity mechanism” were stopped and this step was communicated to Rome in a letter. There has been no confirmation of this from the Italian authorities.
