The German government stated that it is working to deliver a gas turbine to Russia for the “Nord Stream 1” pipeline, so as not to be an “excuse” to stop the supply of gas.
A spokeswoman for German Economy Minister Robert Habeck said today, Monday, that she could not provide any information about the location of the turbine or when it would be transferred to Russia for reasons related to security issues, referring to statements by the German energy company, Siemens Energy, which indicated that all efforts are being made to ensure that Move the turbine and use it as quickly as possible.
According to a Russian press report, Canada sent to Germany on Sunday a Siemens Energy turbine, which is used for the Russian “Portovaya” plant of the Nord Stream 1 gas pipeline, after it was maintained in Canada.
And the agency “Bloomberg” reported today, Monday, that the turbine is expected to arrive in Russia on July 24, and that it will take another three or four days to be prepared at the site.
A spokeswoman for the German Economy Ministry said that according to the ministry’s information and what experts have said, Russia has so far been using the turbine as a pretext. It was intended for use next September.
The Russian energy company, Gazprom, asked Siemens Energy to return the turbine and fulfill its maintenance and repair contract, on which the continued operation of Nord Stream 1 depends. Since last June, Gazprom has significantly reduced gas supplies through the Nord Stream 1 pipeline in the Baltic Sea, citing the exit of a Siemens Energy turbine for maintenance purposes in Canada.
