The German team led by coach Hansi Flick lost to Hungary (0:1) in the match of the fifth round.
Germany, with 6 points, dropped to third in the group as Italy beat England 1-0 to move up to second with 8 points.
The group leader is the Hungarian team with 10 points.
In the final round it was Hungary and Italy in a head-to-head match, the winner of the group will be determined. The game will take place on September 26th.
