His Excellency Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council, received yesterday, separately at the Council’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi, Zhang Yiming, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China, sees Slavic, Ambassador of the Czech Republic, and Udonbatar Shigekhu, Ambassador of Mongolia accredited to the country, in the presence of Afra Al Basti, Assistant Secretary-General for Parliamentary Communication in the Council.
During the meetings, they discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation relations in various fields, especially activating cooperation and parliamentary relations between the Federal National Council and the parliamentary councils in these countries, emphasizing the importance of exchanging parliamentary visits and experiences, and enhancing coordination and consultation on various issues of common interest between the UAE. These countries and the importance of strengthening communication between countries, peoples, civilizations and cultures, and building bridges of communication and cooperation between societies.
Advance parliamentary work
His Excellency Saqr Ghobash stressed the importance of elevating parliamentary work to the level of future challenges and strengthening the role of parliamentary institutions through parliamentary diplomacy. Views were also exchanged on all regional and international developments, especially developments in the Middle East. His Excellency pointed out that the UAE is a model of coexistence and tolerance, and believes that peace is the strategic option and the cornerstone of its policies and relations with all countries.
His Excellency Saqr Ghobash said: The National Council, as a legislative institution, is keen to contribute to efforts to create a safe and better future, and we are keen to strengthen and contribute to these efforts through the participation of parliamentarians and through their work.. He stressed the importance of the role of parliamentary friendship committees in holding bilateral meetings and exchanging parliamentary views. in international forums. Saqr Ghobash welcomed Zhang Yiming, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the country, wishing him success in his duties as ambassador to the United Arab Emirates.
